French Bulldog

The French Bulldog enjoys playing and entertaining its family, as well as cuddling with its favorite family member. It is social, sweet, friendly and willing to please.

The French Bulldog shares many of the characters with its bulldog ancestors: Compact, wide body, heavy bone, muscular build and large, square head. It has soft loose skin which forms wrinkles near head and shoulders. It has an curios and alert expression(unlike Bulldogs) . Also, its movement are free, with reach and drive. It is a strong, entertaining home companion.

The French Bulldog originated in 19th Century Nottingham, England, where lace makers decided to make a smaller, lap version of the English Bulldog. Which was later referred to as a “toy” bulldog. The toy bulldogs became popular in France (brought in during the French industrial revolution)  and were given the name the “French Bulldog”.
