Overview

The Standard Poodle shows its dignity and Pride. The most distinctive feature of The Standard Poodle is harsh, dense, curly coat (trimmed into various styles). Ears are long, drop and the tail is docked high and erect. The length of the body is equal to the height. Another distinctive characteristic of The Standard Poodle is its temperament. It is known for its high intelligence and trainability. Poodles are very social and enjoy human companionship. Poodles excel in the performance events owing to their high intelligence and human companionship. Poodles are famous for the variety of hair cuts.

Poodles ancestors date back to central Asia even though France has been officially recognized as its origin. In Europe the Poodle was used for variety of purposes including duck hunting, guiding and also circus performing. Soon poodle became so popular in France that it was officially adopted as their national dog. Around 20th century Poodles were imported to America and soon they become country’s most popular breed.
