Owing to its beauty and pleasant temperament the Persian has become the most popular breed. The Persians are medium in size with short thick legs. Their paws are large and round with tufted fur. Other characteristics of this breed are broad head, large and not in proportion to its body, tiny ears and big round & expressive eyes. It has a flat face with up-turned nose and short muzzle. It has short and bushy tail.
Its extraordinary coat is long, dense and silky. The Persians have soft undercoat with long outer layer made of guard hair. The Persians require daily grooming and regular bath to maintain its coat. They should be housed indoors to protect their coat and also protect them from parasites and other insects.
