Exotic Shorthair

Overview

Exotic Shorthair also known as Exotic is a man-made breed, result of cross of Persians with American Shorthairs. Its body and head-style match that of Persian but the breed became a separate category in 1960s. Its coat is plush and dense and stands away from the body. Because of regular out-crosses to Persians, many long-haired kittens occur. They share many of the Persians personality features.
Like Persians, Exotics are easy going in nature and share physical characteristics with Persians but with short coat length. Because of its thick, dense, plush coat they have teddy bear look. Exotics are active, athletic and fun loving and yet sensitive
Like Persians they are gentle and dignified but curious, playful and fun loving. This breed is friendly to dogs and others cats. They are sweet, calm and loyal. They are good with children and make good choice for apartment living because of its temperament.
